Katie & Matt September 2018
My cousin Katie and her fiancé Matt, were married in The Peak district in September. I was asked to make the bouquets and buttonholes. These travelled with us safely packed away in the back of the car all the way to the Peaks the morning of the wedding. I’d never visited before and was blown away by the rugged natural beauty of the landscape. It’s definitely on my to do list to return soon, when I’m not worrying about flowers falling off the back seat of the car whilst taking sharp corners on steep inclines along country roads!
Katie asked for flowers in Pinks and Purples, but the brief was very loose - my favourite! I used David Austin Roses, Clematis, Wax flower, Scented Pelargonium leaves, Sweet Pea vines & Spiraea. I also added some Hopps cut from our Grandfathers garden which was a surprise to Katie and almost ruined her make up when I delivered the flowers!
I love the photos below of Katie and Matt standing on the cliffs, Katie’s veil looks so beautiful blowing in the wind! Look carefully and you’ll see a bee found the Roses in her bouquet - I think that’s the best thumbs up you can get for using British flowers!
Thank you Katie and Matt for letting me be a part of your special day and to Sarah Folega Photography for the beautiful photos.
