Caz & Dave July 2018
Caz and Dave are good friends of mine and kindly entrusted me with the creation of some of the flower arrangements for their wedding day in July.
They had done quite a bit of research themselves and so already had quite a clear view of what they wanted. Pinks, Purples, Blues and Whites using some of the flowers they had seen whilst visiting Covent Garden flower market a few months before.
Caz wore the most beautiful lace gown. She wanted a feel of bohemian romance and the brief was Cottage Garden / Mediterranean. I created a large, abundant bouquet for her using delicate light blue Delphiniums which almost glowed in the light, home grown Hydrangea, Roses, Nigella, Queen Anne’s Lace and Fern leaves.
They were married at St. Botolph’s Church in Cambridge (my second wedding there this summer!) where I lined the aisle with Delphiniums, Larkspur and grasses.
The boys wore buttonholes of Eryngium, Lisianthus, Eucalyptus & sweet little Scabiosa buds I cut from my flower patch for texture.
It was a balmy July day and after a stroll through Cambridge they celebrated in Dave’s parents garden complete with two beautifully decorated marquees, the most delicious food, the best funk and Soul band in Cambridge (Cath Coombes & The Awesome Collective – go and see them if you can – they are fantastic and never fail to get a dance floor packed) and even a magician!
It was a great pleasure to flower for such lovely friends and then actually be able to be a part of the day, rather than disappearing once everything was set up. Watching Caz walk down the aisle through a meadow of Delphiniums, bouquet in hand, was definitely a highlight.
Congratulations you gorgeous pair, I wish you all the happiness for the future.
